Michele Stevens

MAR, CNHC Registered for Reflexology, Colour Mirror Practitioner and Massage Therapist

For many years I always had an interest in complementary therapies and over the years have received Reflexology, Physiotherapy and Chiropractic and Massage treatments. I wanted to know and learn more about Reflexology and other therapies, but never quite got around to doing anything about it.

I spent 32 years working for HMRC and representing them on Local and National Radio stations as a Local Radio Broadcaster in addition to my day to day job, a growing family all ensured that it was never more than a recurrent thought ' Oh I'll look into that a bit more when I have the time' .

Michele Stevens, Reflexologist

In 2009, with the help of a rather violent sneeze, I herniated the discs in my lower back. I was left in the most excruciating pain. I never knew just how painful breathing, walking, sitting, standing, lying down could be.

For the following months I was caught in an endless cycle of strong painkillers, physio, hospital appts, steroid injections and eventually

a microdiscectomy. The operation was a success, in so far as I could stand up, however months of the discs pressing on the nerves had left me in a lot of pain and it took me many years to recover.

But I did recover and I now have a very active life, especially when chasing round after my 4 gorgeous grandchildren.

You think I would have learnt to listen to my body when it let me know that I was over doing things or not handling life well, but no I didn't.

Years of constant pain, juggling family, working full time, dealing with the stress and strains of travel and corporate office life and not looking after myself properly had taken its toll on me.

I was tired all the time and everything I did became such an effort. I was worn down and had lost my confidence.

But I was very good at telling everyone ’Im ok’.

Then Redundancy loomed. Looking back what a fantastic thing to have been told, this was a turning point for me.

After the initial 'What can I do? Who am I? ' I gave myself a talking to, put my best foot forward and studied Reflexology. I trained at the London School of Reflexology and was taught by the Principle Louise Keet, who is also author of the bestsellers the Reflexology Bible and Hand Reflexology.

I loved it, yes it was hard work and I questioned my sanity at studying while working full time but I did it and I am proud to say I qualified as a Reflexologist from the London School of Reflexology.

Reflexology and Continuing training, studying and gaining knowledge into the complementary therapies that enable healing of the body inside and out, has personally helped me to cope with the many stresses and strains of juggling family, divorce, health issues, working full-time and being made redundant.

It opened up a whole new world that I am passionate about and want to share.

I continue to train and learn and have successfully attended the Contemporary Cancer Care and Palliative Care Education training at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and volunteered at Hillingdon Hospital Macmillan Centre and local cancer charities offering complementary therapies to people and their families affected by cancer.

I believe that my experiences help me to be the best therapist that I can be. I am passionate in my desire to help my clients to be the best that they can be, supporting them, listening and helping them to feel and look good from the inside out, allowing them to be the best version of themselves.

My question to you is .... How can I help you?

Please do contact me with your name and telephone number, let us have a chat and let me help you get back to feeling like you again.

I look forward to seeing you soon.
